ATIM 2025: Call for Speakers

The ACM Team is excited to ring in the new year with the news that the Call for Speakers for All Things in Moderation 2025 is now OPEN!

This Australian made, global event for online community professionals, moderators and everyone who cares about safe digital spaces, returns 15-16 May 2025 with the theme of "Moderating Third Spaces".

In 2024, ATIM explored moderation in a world of poly-crisis.

In 2025 we are focused on building and restoring community.

Our shared digital spaces offer critical civic infrastructure and invaluable third spaces, providing we can maintain and nurture them. Moderation is uniquely positioned to empower pro-social, civic engagement and constructive mobilisation, and to support bridging capital across diverse and polarised groups and ecosystems. Moderation and online community practices can also help us better understand, and counter, socially destructive forces.

All Things in Moderation 2025 will feature topics that explore and elevate pro-sociality and civic restoration.

We’re seeking contributions from community managers, moderators, researchers, technologists, and policymakers on topics like:

  • Civic restoration through online engagement.

  • Strategies for holistic, inclusive community management.

  • Tools and techniques to counter harm and build resilient communities.

Whether you're working to stay compliant with legislation, looking to upskill, or curious about the big issues emerging in this area in 2025, ATIM is for you.

Note that not all contributions need to align with the main theme. Any contribution that can enlighten or empower the humans who moderate is welcomed.
