State of Community Management: India
Our community management colleagues in India have launched their first ever State of Community Management Survey, capturing key information about communities across the country and the people building and managing them.
The State of Indian Community Management Report is the first ever study that attempts to quantify and assess the impact of online communities in India and includes insights around:
Growth of brand and independent communities in India
Role of events in any community
Impact of COVID19 on communities based in India
Sustainability of communities in India
State of community management careers in India
180 community builders spanning 60 regions in the country took part in the survey, representing a diverse range of industries and community sizes.
Key findings from the report include:
42% of brand community builders reported an increased in organisational investment in community since the pandemic began
48% of community builders are running monetised communities to ensure sustainability
57% of community builders want more resources for self-care to counter burnout
60% of respondents expressed the need for formal Community Management training
The Indian SOCM joins a growing number of industry surveys around community management practice, including The Community Roundtable SOCM report (U.S.), the CMX Industry Survey (U.S), the BVCM SOCM (Germany), and our own annual ACM SOCM. Together these reflect a growing maturation of the discipline and a growing market need for community specialists to bring strategic programs to life (internally and externally).
ANZ community builders interested in learning about the similarities and differences between the practice in our respective countries, can download your copy of the report here.
ACM launches its annual Community Management survey in late 2021.
